About Us

I play Civil War era base ball (it was two words back then) for the Ohio Historical Society.  A few years ago our team was in need of some bats and since I had a lathe I got "volunteered" to give it a turn (bad pun).  With large quantities of patience from my teammates I started to get the hang of turning a bat.  I knew I was doing something right when they started asking me for their own personal bats.  I thought I might be onto something when players from other teams started putting in requests for their own bats.  I was totally surprised when a short time later I put my "hobby" on a web page and started getting requests from all over the country for high quality baseball bats, regardless of the era.  Now I offer bats from the Civil War to modern hard ball as well as many other products.

Quality

I would just like to say something about quality.  Anybody can go to a store and buy a bat or wagon or most of my other products, probably for less than you could buy it from me.  What I can offer that the big stores can't is individual attention, a focus on the details, and my assurance that nothing I sell will leave my shop until I look it over and decide that its good enough to have my name on it.  Every bat blank is selected by me, each board in my wagon is cut and planed and checked for flaws before it is used.  The leather for the base balls and gloves is top notch.  If you buy something from me I want you to be excited about it and proud to take it to your next game.  But just as important to me is when you pass that bat or glove or wagon on to your children for them to use playing the great game of baseball.
